“La Madama” is the spirit of an old slave who was a conjure woman, or their descendants, who guide the living with her wisdom. “La Madama” is not a single spirit. They are many sprits or entities that are called “La Madama” out of respect, much like “Madam”. Their veneration came to the United States through practitioners of Santeria or Espiritismo from Latin American countries in the Caribbean. La Madama is the patron of playing card readers, bone readers, and root doctors.
Living Spirit Dolls
Spirit Dolls are created for the purpose of giving a helping spirit a body to inhabit and set its intention to produce the desired magickal outcome. These spirits are also called “magickal servitors”, not because they are enslaved, but because they are brought into existence to achieve a purpose as set by the Bruja.
